J & J Cellars

Family is important in the winemaking business. Family and women. At least that is what they believe at J & J Winery. Located north of Paso Robles in San Miguel along the Pleasant Valley Wine Trail, J & J Cellars was founded by Jim and Janis Judd and is still managed by their children James Judd and Juliet Judd Fiero. That is the family portion and yes, that is a lot of J’s. The women side comes from the fact that nearly every employee working at J & J Cellars is female, including the winemaker, assistant winemaker, director of sales, and all other staff. That is the women side and it makes J & J Cellars one of the most unique wineries in all of Paso Robles.

Outside of his family, Jim Judd had three great loves when he founded J & J Cellars: farming, flying, and his beloved winery dog Patti. Patti is a welcome guest everyday at J & J Cellars, and the winery is one of the most dog-friendly in all of Paso Robles. You’ll see Jim’s love of flying displayed on the labels for their Vintge Flight and Autumn Flight Barbera wines. And of course his passion for farming and growing the finest grapes in Pleasant Valley are evident in their single varietal and blended wines of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Barbera, Zinfandel, Tempranillo, and Petite Sirah, as well as in their Juliet Fiero white selections of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Moscato, and a wonderful Sparkling Brut.
