Clavo Cellars

In the world of winemaking, the influence of the Mondavi family stretches as far and as deep as the roots of the vines planted in their Napa Valley vineyards. As seen with David Parrish, those roots extend into Paso Robles as well. Neil Roberts, founder and winemaker of Clavo Cellars, got his start with the Mondavis as a vineyard manager and today runs one of the most successful vineyard management companies on the Central Coast. But his true passion is winemaking, which is why he founded Clavo Cellars in 2004 right in downtown Templeton – to truly express his passion and share it with others.

As a pre-eminent vineyard manager, Neil has insights and access to some of the finest vineyards in Templeton and Paso Robles as well as outstanding Pinot Noir from the Edna Valley in San Luis Obispo. His white wines delve into the eclectic, where traditional Rhone grapes Grenache Blanc and Viognier stand side-by-side with Albarino, Vermentino, and one of the only sparkling Grenache Blanc de Noirs you will ever see. Clavo’s hand-crafted reds include single varietal Malbec, Syrah, Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah, the Meritage blend Collusion, and a mysterious Syrah/Petit Verdot/Cabernet Sauvignon Blend called Enigma.
